This is a collection of posts written by Rhian since 2002 when she first started blogging from Antarctica on her brother’s site, felixsalmon.com. Upon return to greener lands, Felix, in a bid for independence, encouraged her to write about her life on a houseboat in Cambridge, and her work in polar science communication, on her own site. In 2009, when she left to sail across the Pacific with her new husband, Andy, she set up smilingfootprints.com that included a live-progress map, photos, and videos as well as stories. In the name of consolidation, all the posts are collated here. She is now living in New Zealand.
